Pyrmont Point Park Winter Bootcamp Sydney
Well winter is well and truly upon us. Again we have endured another rainy morning in at Pyrmont Point Park – Bootcamp.
The training session went well and Thursday is our running day and we were able to keep everyone off the wet grass and their backs dry….well almost!
We started the session with a run down to the pier alongside the wharf and did a little bit of joint mobility and stretches, these types of activities are done all the time in every session in OZ bootcamp and I also use them in my Personal training session that I run throughout Sydney.
We then jogged back to the point where Harris Street ends at the park just down from Pirrama road.
We then started a partner activity where 200 lunges had to completed by each team with the non lunging partner running up the hill and back.
Our next activity consisted of step ups and sprints up the hill and then step downs and sprints.
The step downs are an awesome way to activate the posterior chain including hamstrings , glutes and lower back not to mention the core stability involved in keeping good form while controlling the descent of the movement as you work to resist gravity.
Our next activity was the stairs on Pirrama road. A lot of the guys were stills ore from kettlebell workouts they had endured earlier on in the week.
We started with a simple single step jog to the top of the stairs and back down for 4 minutes.
Next up we went 2 steps at a time, this time it was for 3 minutes.
Our last activity consisted of a run to the top of the stairs and around on to the top area of the landing and back down. All up this was about a 1 minute course and we repeated about 4- 5 times.
All up it was a good morning and I had to finish up with another personal training session after the bootcamp.
